I accidentally put a site onto my desktop instead of putting it into My Documents - it was my first attempt to make a Shortcut. I goofed.
Now - how do I remove it from my desktop screen?
Thanks in advance.
Robin... Try this, 'right-click' the file/shortcut that is on your desktop, and select 'Cut' from the menu that appears. Then open "My Documents" and 'right-click' in a blank area of the 'My Documents' window, then click on 'Paste' from the menu that appears.
You can also use keyboard short cuts instead of selecting the comands from the menu.
"Ctrl" + "X" = Cut (This command removes the file perminatly from its current location)
"Ctrl" + "C" = Copy (This command makes a copy of the file)
"Ctrl" + "V" = Paste (This command 'puts' the file previously 'copied' or 'cut' file into the place you select)
thanks
I tried several of the ideas and discovered that there are several ways to delete it or move it to either the recyle or to my documents.
next time I'll be more careful, but I did learn something valuable.
(I get concerned when removing things because I lost much of my important stuff when in the process of removing adware - and had to replace it).
Seems okay now!
