Removing HDD Bays.....

Hello all,
I saw this guy's case and noticed how clean it looked without the HDD bays. Couldn't help but think this would dramatically increase the air flow in the case.

What are your opinions? Also, what does this do to the HDDs without air moving across them? Thanks for your feedback!

I removed my HD cage from my NZXT Apollo to place a 120mm fan in the front. I thought I could have better airflow so I left the cage out and put the hard drive on one of the 3 1/2" bays.

Now my case looks more spacy and my CPU temps idling sometimes go 3C lower than normal.

It does look nice, but what the heck is up with the foam?

I guess it's just to hide some really messy cables down there :D

The foam was for sound proofing purposes but it does hide messy wires too. What is required to mount hdds in 5" bays?

It would increase airflow in the case, but it might be less than you think especially if you only have one drive and it isn't covering the width of the front of your case.
