We have an old Windows Server 2008 file server. We are having all kinds of issues with the NTFS permissions.
I have tried to take ownership of the folders but it only traverses so far down the folder structure. I am a domain admin and I can't even add a users to folders.
Other steps I have taken:

Other steps I have taken:
- Tried taking ownership though the command line interface with <takeown>. It will only go far down in the folder structure.
- tried using the <icacls> command to add users but again that would only go so far down the folder structure. Same folders would work but other won't.
