Removing side panel?

I have always wondered if taking the side panel off of the PC will do any damage? The reason why I ask is because my PC has been running some what hotter than normal, so I took it out of the cabinet it was in and put it on top of my desk. That helped a little bit, but not enough, so I was thinking about taking the side panel off, but I'm not sure if that can damage anything or not. Normally my PC runs at 28-30C, but lately it has been balancing out at 39-43C. I know that 39-43 is not all that bad, but I like to keep it as cool as possible.

Its definately not dangerous but taking the panel will only make it worse if anything IMO. The case fans are placed for circulation, and taking the panel off will only make there be less air pressure, thus less cooling.

Yea it wont cause any harm, but I am not sure it will lower temps. Give it a try for a week or so and see how it goes.

I can see your point, but Im using the stock cooling which is a big whopping...............1 fan, which is not doing much of anything. So I figured if I took the side panel off it would cool it down a bit

if you clean the dust of the fans and the heatsinks it will help a lot reducing the temps

Yeah I did that when I moved it, but I only have 1 exhaust fan and heatsink fan

I would add a fan, or upgrade your existing fans, and it sitting in a cabinet probably isnt the coolest place for it to be.
