Does anyone know how i can rename a file in DOS with the current date & time as the name.

I would like to create a batch file that when run, will rename "file1" so that it is named instead with the current system date&Time??

that would actually be a good idea, then when i run the batch file that backs up my computer i could put each backup in a folder with its date, i will have a look arond to see if there is a way, it must be possible, but i've just got to do RE homework first

Lee :D

yeah i need it for backups too... but i also have to make it run every half hour. let me know if you find a way.
