Repairing CD's and DVD discs

Hi craneop1985,

Well...

I used to put toothpaste on my finger and rub it all around the disc in a circular motion, applying moderate pressure. Then I would rinse it thoroughly with hot water, dry it with a wash rag and then spray Windex on it and and wipe from the inside out with a shammy cloth.

But then, maybe I'm crazy. It always seemed to work for me! :P

I use furniture polish... like pledge on a soft cloth and buff till dry & shiney. The wax in the polish fills in the scratches so the laser on your dvd player will glide right over them.

I worked for an electronic company...industry secret

Hope that helps! :D :good:

I have known a few people using stick deodorants like mennon speed stick. Just rub it on and wipe it off. I guess it fills the scratches. They claimed it worked, but I have never tried it...

The local game store where I live does disk repair for only $1. The have a professional machine that makes the disk look like brand new. You should check and see if any place near you does the same thing.
