Repairing Windows?

Is there a way to repair windows without having to reformat your hard-drive and reinstall XP?

I tried to install this skin thing to make my computer look like it has Vista running and i didnt like it so i uninstalled it and now i cant use windowblinds to restore my other skin. All the icons are huge and look extremely ugly and it looks really bad to me.

Can anyone help?

you have a few options you can either use windows restore and go back to before you installed that program (main problem is if you have installed anything since then it will be wiped as well) or you can try to do a system repair if you have the xp disk boot from it and select the repair option this will often fix problems and tends to take a while depending on the speed of your computer try those and if they dont work let me knwo i might be able to help try one more thing

I just used the system restore thing and i reset it to last saturday so I lost some of my stuff but nothing i couldnt get back.
