Replace Dell 2350 MOBO

A buddy of mine ripped his onboard video card out from his motherboard. I tried replacing his video with a PCI card but, as I learned from you intelligent people, that's a no go. So, I'm looking to replace the MOBO. I'm not that computer savvy when it comes to knowing what other Dell models have compatible MOBO that I can just replace the broken one with. I understand that I'm going to need swap the processor but would a different dell model like the 4550 work? Thanks in advance.

Well I'd say he probably took a very BIG screwdriver and you know...had fun...

But on the topic of replacing the mobo, what is your budget? And you can buy almost any mobo if you're going to swap the CPU, you dont have to buy a dell compatible one...just one that is compatible with your current parts.

Edit: What type of memory do you have also?

not exactly am not sure if dell give you a standard atx case which means a new motherboard might not fit in the case. Also the motherboard might not use a standard atx psu which then means he would need a new psu also. I not certain this dell model does this but I know some companies do this to make it difficult to upgrade with out going to them.

Yeah, I was worried about the issue with a new mobo fitting the case. I'm looking to spend about $50-$75. I just want to be able to just pop a new board in. Any ideas?

Dell 2350 uses a Matx MOBO and runs on PC2100 RAM and the CPU is P4 1.8 upgradable to 2.4. I have a 2350 myself and i tried upgrading it but its not worth it because upgradability is limited, but i did manage to salvage most of the parts like CPU/RAM/Floppy drive/DVDROM and CDRW. So a standard ATX wont fit

Matx? That's Micro-ATX I'm pretty sure. You can pick one of those up at newegg.com, if matx isnt micro then I have noooo idea
