Hello all. New to the site and I have a question. I just bought a cheap desktop for the sole purpose of hooking it up to my tv for a little internet surfing from the comfort of the lazy boy. Anyhow, I had planned to install a wifi card into it. I ran into a problem when I found no open pci expansion slots. I know there are usb wifi adapters, but I have already purchased the card. So, plan b: remove the modem and replace it with the wifi card. What do I need to do before and after I remove & replace (settings, etc)? Thanks for the help.

to be OCD we can do this right click my computer choose properties
go to hardware go to device manager... find your modem and right click uninstall.

shut down your pc take out the modem... slap in the wifi... windows should detect it and ask for drivers plop in the CD that came with it if not download them from the manufacturers website install drivers.... thats it.
