Alright

computer- Gateway GT4023E

The 320gb hard drive crashed on me, so i installed a WD SATA 500gb hard drive.
Reinstalled windows via my system disc.

First problems occurred soon after installation.
NONE of the drivers for the MOBO installed, So i had to track them down via the manufacturers website. Got that taken care of.
But i believe i may still be missing a few drivers. Possibly, am not sure though.

so one of the problems i am having now is when i am uploading video files/pictures off of my memory cards from my digital camera onto my computer.
Im using the card reader that is on my computer.
The computer use to not upload them as a video file or something.
I use to not be able to open them, and i would get directed to this Microsoft website with a couple paragraphs of possibilities on why this is happening.

Well i downloaded quicktime since that is what my mozilla uses for default when viewing videos through mozilla.

Before the crash when i would upload videos off of the mini SD cards, they would upload in WMP format and i would be able to play them in my WMP, well now they are uploading and opening with Quicktime, and they do not play in the quicktime player.
If i am able to get them to play, they skip and do this annoying stop and go play bull crap.

So any ideas on how to get the videos to be played on WMP instead of Quicktime right after they are uploaded?

Another problem i am having is burning cds.
I use to be able to burn cd's without a single problem.
Well no, at the end of the burn session, i will get a little error window saying that WMP cannot burn the files to the cd disc, and to make sure the disc is clean and un damaged or un used. blah blah

i havent burnt a cd for my self, but i did burn one the other day for the fiance, and i think it worked, but am unsure if the whole cd worked.

If you guys need more details on the WMP error message, i can sure try to burn a cd and copy the error message and post it up.

So hm, anyone have any ideas?

By the way, this hard drive was my first hard drive swap i've ever done.
It went well IMO.

Thanks

Did you fully update your system via Windows Update after the Installation? When you look in the Device Manager, are there any yellow marks next to any of your Hardware?
