Replacing out my old card

Im looking for a replacement for my 4890 turbo...

So what should I get and why?

Im looking at the 6870, 5870, dont really know much about what nvidia has to offer...

Basically looking for the best bang for buck... No real budget but I dont want to spend in the 1000s...

Im also keen on setting up eyefinity... Can nvidia do that yet?

Nvidia can do multiple screens yes, 3D and all that too.

Are you looking for a single card or multiple?
 
Single mainly... Unless I can get better performance out of two or three or four cards for the same price?

I have a m4a79t deluxe so I have 4 pcie slots.
 
I don't think the 6870 would be a worthwhile upgrade for you.

If you can wait a few weeks, i'd strongly suggest waiting for the new 69xx cards to come out.

Even if you ultimately decide to go team green this round, the arrival of the new 69xx cards should bring nvidia to a more competitive pricepoint.
 
Um dont really have a set budget... If the price is right I can go less or more if you know what I mean...

I dont know around 550 ish NZ... So 412 US?
