Replacing SSD in laptop

The SSD in my ASUS laptop is bad. It is a SK hynix P/N HFS256G39TND - N210A 88. The module has 2 notches. The mother board has 1 notch or key.
Do I need to replace the bad module with a module with 2 notches or can I use a module with 1 notch?

What model of asus do you have? The one notch usually means its NVME which means it would boot much faster.

Unfortunately all I'm finding on that is its only an M.2 SATA. You might want to contact Asus and ask.

Yeah same here. I did send ASUS a email. Maybe I’ll get a reply. But I imagine I will be buying a SATA board. I am getting prepared by downloading Windows 10 iso file to a USB flash drive.
