Hi,

I would like to request for an advice/ solutions on how to block access to some certain website for an organization due to limited data quota available.

Currently the client has been using Huawei hg8245 wireless optic fibre router and its connected to a tplink 24port unmanaged switch.

I have eventually tried the following solutions:

1) I have went into the Huawei hg8245t router security and then to url blocking setup to block some of the website. However, some of the user was still able to bypass the security. For instance: https://www.youtube.com.
The problem is that i am not able to key in https://www.youtube.com into the url blocking because it cannot accept https://

2) I have already setup an opendns account so that i could input the opendns ip into the Huawei optic fibre wireless router. However, the dns field has been greyed out. But, there,s a field that says ddns....could I put the opendns ip into the ddns?

Thanks, your help is much appreciated.:D

1) http or https doesn't make a difference on a URL or DNS filter.
2) No.

See if you can add the OpenDNS IP into the DHCP field for your LAN clients. Then they will get that as a DNS reference and you can control what the addresses resolve as.
