Alternatively, you could try going to your local cell phone store or try posting on a forum dedicated to cell phones... like this one: http://cellphoneforums.net/
You might leave out the "O brothers" and other stuff - just post "I need to recover data from a cell phone - not from an SD card, but from the phone memory itself. Any suggestions?" - that might get a better response than your drawn-out, over-dramatic approach.

Just sayin'. ;)
