requesting help from someone who KNOWS php

ok. i am having a big problem setting up phpbb (fine toning it). it is b/c i dont know a lot of php. so if some one can help me over aim or here that would be so much help... yes i have tried posting on the phpbb forum. they dont have enough man power.
 
i am trying to mess around with the php to let me have a input of age in the reg section. i get the day month year settings there but i cant get it to see the variables in the php
 
It will require a good knowledge of PHP which I dont have... I think PHPbb3 (or the latest) let's you do that easily...
 
What do you mean you can't see the variables in PHP? As long as the inputs you are trying to get are in the right form their values will be passed into $_REQUEST or $_GET or $_POST arrays.
 
it is weard. it has ones like <!-- IF S_USER_LOGGED_IN --> or <!-- IF I_BIRTHDAY_ENABLED -->. then there is a html template that is on the web that leads to a php body... it is confusing
