Resolution prob on monday night combay

I recently purchased monday night combat and when i first got into the game i accidentally set the resolution higher than my monitor. Now when i try to play it my screen turns black and it says "No range" or something like that.

I uninstalled and reinstalled it but the computer still pulls the game up at that high resolution thats bigger than my monitor.

If anyone knows how to fix this i would really appreciate it.
 
I would check around "my documents" or "saved games" etc folders... It has no doubt made a config file somewhere outside of the steam install directory (lots of games do) and thus each time you install its still using that old config file...
 
Did you get this game through steam? If so, you can try right clicking the game in your steam library and going to properties. Then click the button that says "Set Launch Options"

Put "-resx #### -resy ####" in that box (obviously, no quotation marks, replace the #'s with whatever your resolution is).


Alternatively, a quick google search showed that there may be an .ini file you can edit, located somewhere like \Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\HostileGame\Config\HostileEngine.ini
Poke around there and see if you have any options.
 
when i hit okay nothing happens, also im looking through the folder but i just can't find which folder keeps the resolutions. :(

If you can find this part... I would take a copy of the whole folder and put it somewhere else, then delete the whole folder... Reinstall the game and it should make a new one at default settings...

as stated in my original post, I did attempt to reinstall but it loads up with the same resolution.

So im not really sure what to do, ive been looking through the folders but im just not sure.

Yeah thats what I mean... When you reinstall it just used the settings in that above folder (which does not get deleted with you uninstall) on the new install so the res would be the same...

Yeah good news... This was my next suggestion but didnt know how comfortable you would be changing the config file in there... Deleting the whole folder and reinstall would have made the game make a complete new one with the res at default...

But good news anyway :)
