resolution problem

i love starcraft, i grew up with starcraft, basically, i am starcraft...anyway, i cant figure something out. i would play it on my friends old ass laptop at 1024 resolution, but when i tried to put it on my 19 inch crt, which is set at 1280 right now, the game just plays at 800...WHY? i even had the computer on 1024 for a while, but that didnt do anything. i dont know anything about the computer, its just some old optiplex that my dad bought, but i dont even know if the video is the problem. i just dont know how to adjust the size, and ive never had this problem until now.
 
no, the game itself doesnt allow you to change the display size...but do you think i could change it throught My Computer? im just confused why, if it falls back on some kind of standard size, why would it be 800 if its always been 1024 on other computers, and yea its the same disc.
 
sorry to tell you, but.....no. there is no way to do this. this is mainly beacuse Blizzard Entertainment did not want another player having an advantage by allowing some players with the ability of a higher resolution to see more of the screen at once. so sorry, but no. and even if u found some program that could change the resolution, Blizzard did not take the time to redraw the characters to fit the resolution change, so it is impossible.
