Restart issues

Whenever I do a restart, the Windows is starting screen appears. Then the computer will shut down, monitor will go into sleep mode, lights on the keyboard go out. Then after about 90 seconds, the keyboard lights come on and the screen comes back to life with the Windows password box showing.

Any ideas what causes this? For the record,I've done all kinds of virus scans to no avail and it's done it for months and I've just lived with it, but it is annoying.

One other thing, I have my OS on a SSD and I would have thought it would come back fairly fast.

Is this a custom build or store bought? Can you give us a list of your parts? May help to determine what is going on. Also, have you tried resetting the cmos?

It's a custom built. Parts are listed below in my signature. I have NOT tried resetting the cmos, not really sure how to do that anyway.

Unplug power from power supply, remove cmos battery from motherboard, press and hold the power button on the case for 10 seconds, then wait about 10 minutes. Then reinsert battery, reconnect power and boot up. If you had any special bios settings setup you will need to change those before booting into windows.
