Restart without warning

I have a Dell Inpiron 6000 and just in the past week or so it has been restarting without me telling it to. I called Dell and they said it was a software issue, what do you guys think? I really dont think it is because I reformatted back in January and at that time installed DeepFreeze. Sometimes the resolution gets changed also but all I have to do is wait and the resolution I had appears. By the way this is happening about twice a day. Any suggestions??

i dont think it could be a software issue, but i know it could be overhesting, or a virus, or other things. does it feel like it's overheating?

Go to Control Panel, System, Advanced tab, Starup and Recovery Settings button and under the System failure category, uncheck the Automatically restart box.

This will enable the infamous Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD), which is actually a useful tool for determining what is wrong with your system.

When you get a BSOD, post the message here and we can work from there. Most likely culprit, in my opinion, is a resource/driver conflict or a hardware failure in memory.
