Reverse HT non existant.

How can they be sure that it doesn't exist? Maybe AMD started the rumors, then came out with an official statement denying them, only to later show that it does indeed exist?

Of course, this is all just speculation based on inside information which The Inquirer has obtained by some means.

Which is the same kind of stuff that said that RHT did exist.

I don't really care either way, but it would be cool if it did work.

lol ahh whatever...
AMD is still a good company, cheers to intel for winning the battle!
maybe ill build a rig with a conroe in it. i thought i wanted a laptop but maybe ill use my old x2 3800+ (at stock) as a fileserver or something and get a conroe with an asus mobo... definitely not the best choice getting an ECS board though it served me well and overclocked well too.
this conroe and reverse ht have been very good for competition and expansion for both companies im sure.

They won the battle but not the war, They take turns winning, they just keep rolling out new CPU's to beat the others latest.

yeah, it's all competition, 1 makes a faster CPU, the other company has 2 come up with plans 4 another CPU.

I agree with 34erd, the RHT rumors that the Inquirer posted on their website seem to be caused the same way that the rumors of no RHT started.

I do believe them though, but to be 100% sure we need to wait for a statement from AMD.

While it is probably possible to have 2 execution engines work on 1 thread, the load balancing logic and coherency logic systems would need to be so complicated it wouldn't be worth it.

Two cores operating as one.......so why would any company invest in a technology that goes backward to a single core design when the futre is in multiple core operations for both hardware platforms and software multitasking. Seems like a silly idea in the first place!!!

Because a 2GHz dual-core processor could suddenly become a 4GHz single-core processor in one-threaded applications.

If this is 100% factual, this can be a big blow for AMD. I was looking forward to RHT.......:(
haha AMD knows what its researching and what it isn't researching.
it may show up in AMD's sales if thats what you mean lol

I was looking forward to it too. Oh well, in a few years, AMD and Intel will roll out some new technology that will blow out minds away. I'm just looking forward to Conroe, for the moment.
