I've used an ASUS Triton81 cooler for my old i7 demo and the new one under construction.

It's a new cooler, dedicated to lga 1366 socket.

Hey, Ive just had a look thats pretty sweet considering i have and i7 CPU i might just give this a try out but any other Heatsinks that would be that feel free to post!? =]

go do a filtered search on newegg or ncix or tigerdirect or something for lga1366 socket coolers.

You can fit some lga775 socket heatsinks on corei7 but you need a bracket/adapter..and still not all models/makes will work.

I did a filtered search on Newegg and foud a sicket clip? hahaiI was looking at the V8 has anyone had any experience with the V8?

Yer i think im going to go with the Coolermaster V8 if it fits my socket if not ill probably go for your ASUS Triton 81 Thansk for the review! =]

I bought a £25 Akaska CPU cooler and its pretty good for the price and it has blue LEDs on it :P Core i7's will probably need that plate behind the mobo so be prepared to take the motherboard out, especially if its a beasty HSF

When I built my new I7 I chose the NH-U12P SE1366 made by Noctua and it has performed nicely. Idle temps are at 33C and load temps are around 58C with room temp of 23C.

Nice i was thinking on getting the CoolerMaster V8 if it would fit my socket i havent checked yet die to me being lazy haha Thats for the reviews people =]

I have had the V8 for about a week now...here is my thoughts.

- The contact surface is amazing...polished chrome...like glass:) I was fully ready to give it lapping job but when i saw it, no way.

- Looks are great, it don't get any better than this:D Nice soft red glow...nothing bright just right.

- Temps dropped 10c from a lapped Hyper TX2 as soon as I fired it up. This is overclocked at my first step in testing for stability. I could not find my Arctic Silver 5...this is with the Coolermaster TIM that comes with it.

- When I turn up the fan controller, I can hear the fan get louder but temps stay the same at idle and load...does not increase the cooling at all.

- IT'S HUGE! I have about 1/8 of an inch between the cooler and my top fans. There might be 1/16 of an inch between the side panel and the cooler. I can push on the side of my case and it will hit the top of the cooler.

- Mounting system SUCKS! The bracket that mounts to the reverse side of the motherboard is huge:mad:The directions state to put these little plastic washers between the bracket and the motherboard...I tried that and my motherboard standoffs were not tall enough:eek: My motherboard would sit there and balance on the V8 bracket...could not even get my screws in:( I had to attach without the plastic washers. The bracket attaches to the cooler with bolts and a nut. It comes with a little socket that is junk...had to go to the garage and find some real tools.

Overall I am happy with it, just make sure you have room;) I might just wedge in one of my Sycthe 133 CFM fans and let er rip and see what happens to the temps...I'll keep you updated:)

Any other questions just throw them up here and I'll do my best to help :)

Coolermaster 690 Nvidia edition. I was thinking about a major mod and putting my fans on top of the case...in between the sheet metal and mesh screen...don't have the time really. My fan blades are no kidding, maybe 1/8 of an inch at the most, I am just waiting for a blade to catch the cooler and BAM! Fan blades flying everywhere:)
