Looks fine. The power supply is a good one. But fine if you want some overhead. Plus you can get just as good of one cheaper.

With the money you can save on the power supply. You can get more and better memory.

someone mentioned that more memory wouldnt really show a difference cause i had thought i should get 8 gb and i was just going with that power supply because it was modular and the case is like mid sized so didnt know if i should worry about all the cables?

Upgrade to a 990FX board if you have extra. That's about it, build looks solid. Maybe an SSD?

yea i was going to add an ssd at somepoint during the semester i just want the comp put together before it starts and i will 990fx. thanks

Any 990FX board will do, the gigabyte one is nice though. Your link is broken though, remove the "...and" from it.

and i was doing a little reading on ssds...should i try to get it before i build my comp seeing how i would be installing my os to that?

I have a similar setup to Stretch1414. I play SC2 maxed and I have no lag at all usually in the 70s when you actually get to a battle. If there is a mothership with huge armies then I probably go down to 45-60. 110-130 when starting a match.

How much money do you have to spend on a gpu?

I would look at this GPU. It is the next step up, a 6950 1GB, and by the same manufacturer as your original choice. But if you have the money then look for a 6950 2GB.

not home right now and playing on a newer age stock hp all in one desktop but dont have access to specifics. and yea i will check that gpu out right now..ad my budget for gpu i am not positive because i am sill making changes to my build but i could give an estimate if i do some number crunching.

i just looked at prices 6950 would probably be the highest i would go dont think i could squeeze anything above the 250ish range into my budget

Alright then check out the one I posted. I would highly recommend you go for 6950 1GB, instead of the 6870 then. Especially if you want to run SC2 on pretty high settings.
