Ribbon Extention

hey guys, I'm in a bit of a bind here. The ribbon to connect my TFT screen to its circuit board is too short. I need an extention but have no idea where to buy one. its 25 mm wide and here is a picture of what I am talking about

how can it possibly be too short?
did it not work at one time??
is this a Mutt contraption that you've created on your own, or did you take it apart and can't remember how it went back together?

its a mutt contraption that I made on my own.

This LCD screen is from a car monitor so its a T.V and has 2 ribbons that need to be connected in order for the screen to function. As you can see in this picture the ribbon is really short and the only way to connect them is to have the circuit board sitting on the screen. I cant have this as I am going to be using an overhead projector to enlarge the image on screen. so I need to find a way of extending the ribbon in order to have both connected. Jerkstore, that site you gave me is the closest I have come to getting what I need but I dont think they will have it. but will keep searching.

is it just a ribbon cable you need??
how many pins is it?
