Right RAM for me?

I have a ASUS K8V SE Deluxe motherboard with 3 RAM slots. I have 2 512MB sticks in now, and am looking to get another stick, probably 2GB. Since my MB is a few years old, does that change what kind of memory I need? I read the RAM 101 article but I still need a little guidance. Thanks!
