Greetings All,

I was looking through some of the ancient posts I thought I had that was answered on my following question but, don't think it was so, here does;

Win xp pro, plenty of ram and hd space, 3.6 processor, *Windows Media Player 9.000000 etx.

A friend sent me a music disc with 5 specimen music tracks on it that I would like to rip to a folder and then re-burn. HOW is that done with win media player 9? I THINK i did this years ago but, cannot remember. Thanks!

**Note - any caps used in my reply(ies) only serve to segregate the questions from the answers**

I would say you would be better off cloning the disk.

If you rip into a lossy format like mp3 you'll lose some audio quality.

thanks for the reply but, not what i asked.....Please re-read original post.

(HOW is that done with win media player 9?).

You make it very difficult to be enthusiastic to help you.

GEEZ...now ask yourself, is the answer that you furnished me (and i thanked you) relevant to what i asked for?...No, it isn't and I alerted you to it and now you are testy about my reply.....It is not my fault that you gave information not containing any steps/procedures as to ripping from a cd is done with wmp 9.

The way to rip music hasn't changed with WMP. It's always been the same. Just click the Rip tab, select the tracks you want to rip, and click Rip.

Though as beers said, it would be easier to just burn a copy of the CD.

Though in that old a version it's something more along the lines of "Copy files to computer or device".

Open media player, put in the disk and let it load up and media player should recognize something. It might not recognize the music track names if its misc music, not like a regular music cd. You can then check mark what songs you want ripped to pc and then you can reburn those tracks to a cd.

I was trying to save you some headaches down the line when you played the copied disk and wondered why it sounded like garbage in comparison to the original.

I'm sorry additional supporting information is such a problem for you. Please realize people go out of their way to volunteer to help on this site at zero personal compensation. If you'd rather be demanding we can discuss a consulting fee if you'd prefer.

...Thanks for the reply.

YES, IT RECOGNIZES THE TRACKS ON THE CD.
It might not recognize the music track names if its misc music, not like a regular music cd.
I SEE THE TRACKS BUT, NOT THE NAMES AS I AM NOT SURE IF IT WAS EVER GIVEN NAMES.
You can then check mark what songs you want ripped to pc and then you can reburn those tracks to a cd.
THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM COMES IN, I SEE THE TRACKS AND THEY PLAY BUT, I DO NOT KNOW OR SEE WHERE TO "CLICK" TO RIP THE MUSIC.

NO, IT IS NOT BUT COMPREHENSION OF THE ORIGINAL POST/QUESTION IS MOST TROUBLESOME FOR YOU IT'S EVIDENT!

OH, HERE YA GO "SHOW-BOATING" AGAIN!..I KNOW THAT BUT, ON SOME OF THE "HELP", THE ANSWER IS NOT RELEVANT AT ALL.

If you'd rather be demanding we can discuss a consulting fee if you'd prefer.
I CAN TELL YOU WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR "FEE" HOWEVER, IT REGARDLESS, WOULD BE MONEY WASTED SINCE IT WOULD NOT BE RELEVANT TO MY INITIAL QUESTION COMING FROM YOU. PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER ANY MORE FORUM INQUIRIES FROM ME.
