Ripping out my hardware...

i have to comps and have to switch between them all of the time and they are both on, i dont have the room to have to workstations as such so i just rip out the keyboard and mouse and screen cos i still only have one. so im sharing, is this going to have any if all a long time damaging effect to both computers? any suggestions? i know this sounds dumb. thanks!!!
 
i take that back i can get just the splitters but can i still have both computer running and then just switch? i'd like both computers to run through dual moniters, so this should be fine?
