Rolling back drivers for older cards?

can rolling back video drivers for older cards increase performance?

I have a 3870x2 and it has major micro stuttering in quite a few games, could i resolve this, potentially, by rolling back the driverS? Or is it better to keep uptodate?

What operating system? If xp my 3870 wouldn't run stable on drivers dated after October 2009.

Windows vista 64 bit, sp2.

DO you think i should roll back?

I was thinking about it today and i thought this may be the problem for stuttering in MW2

Im rubbish at troubleshooting.

You can try and see. I can't remember if my 3870 was lagging in mw2 or not.
