Route messing up or something else?

I have noticed the past few days about 9ish each night the wifi goes out. Usually it will come back but tonight it didnt I unplugged router and it came back. called the cable company and they said it seems to be the router since I'm not resetting the modem. Router is an Asus rt-n56u its about 3 or 4 years old now. should i look into getting a new one or what? I do have alot of things connected ill list everything i can remember.

Laptop
4 phones
roku stick
roku3
2 chromecast
ps3
2 tablets
wireless access point

not all are connected at once. but most are since we stream tv and no actual cable.

Anything else going on around that time? Is it always the same time? It could be the router but if it's like clockwork there could be something external. Are wired clients affected?

I'm assuming the WAP is offloading some of the wireless clients from the router, is it possible it is dropping them?

I knew a guy who would lose wifi at around the same time every night, turned out it was when he used the microwave.

Is it all connectivity that goes out or just wifi? Do you get a difference in 2.4 or 5 ghz band clients?

everything goes out not really anything going on only thing running last night was a phone and roku 3 i think. everything else was off. it does happen one 2.4 and 5 ghz. nothing is hard wired im waiting for it to happen again to connect the laptop to the router and modem to check and see if it still works that way
