Router > HUB > Access Point

I have two Netgear DG834g's and a Small netgear hub.

I want to have one DG834g connected to the DSL line, run a network cable to the HUB, and then from the HUB to the second DG834g - I will disable DHCP on the second DG834g, and assign a different IP than the first DG834g.

Does this sound ok? Using the DG834g purely as an access point and hub?

Any reason why? A router and a switch would be much easier to work with. But yeah...assuming there aren't any software/firmware limitations, that should work.

you dont need the hub just the 2 routers connected together,

Hub suck anyway they are half duplex meaning that they can only send OR receive data at any given time not both, and they send all data that comes in one port out on all other ports.

the hub is going to cause a bottleneck in your network and is going to be a pain to setup.

Set it up today, and all is working fine and as expected.

I have ommited a hub for now, but will need to fit one, or a switch at that location as there are going to be machines in that locallity, The two routers and the hub/switch are in three seperate buildings cabled together.

The three devices each feed two computers, so 6 computers in total.
