Router Problems

I have a Belkin router and after a cable outage, my computer no longer recognizes that i am connected to the internet. If I connect directly to the modem I can access internet but not with my router. The issue is that I have two computers in the house and mainly use one with a wireless connection and the other is using the modem directly. Any ideas

Yes, in an attempt to fix the issue, I switched the device from computer to computer several times so it was basically powercycled.

Switching a device from computer to computer is not power cycling. Did you actually unplug the modem and router, plug the modem in, wait for it to boot, then plug in the router?

That worked thanks. And btw I know what power cycling is, I just thought that since I was powering it off and then plugging it back in but hooked up to a new computer that it was essentially power cycling itself, like a forced reboot.

Now you know :)

And BTW, if you had called your ISP, that's the first thing they would have had you do.
