Router setup with wireless Isp

I had to move my wireless isps dish to my shed because of growing trees. The poe resides in my music shed now. I have an underground cat5 cable going into the house. The house has a wireless router which I already have setup for laptops and tv. Shed is too far away to use the wireless router. Is it possible to use an unmanaged switch with my poe? My thoughts are going from the poe into the unmanaged switch, then taking the cat5 into a port to feed the wireless router in the house, then taking my shed computers into the ports. Will this work or will I need a wired router in the shed? I would prefer not using 2 routers and redoing my wireless network in the house.
Thanks!!

Maybe an easier way to do this would be to purchase a new, stronger antenna and/or get a wireless repeater/extender. Have you thought about going that route?

You'd need 2 routers mate- if im understanding you correctly you want to do something like this:

Wireless satellite dish-------unmanaged switch-----feed to house router
dddddddddddddddddddddddddddd|
dddddddddddddddddddddddddddd|
ddddddddddddddddddddddd feed to shed's computers

this setup wont work because the wireless sattelite dish is only connecting and giving out 1 public IP address, by putting an unmanged switch before the router you are effectively making devices "fight" for that one ip address, meaning you'll only be able to connect one pc at a time, or the router and no pc's in the shed- the only way to control whos get the public ip as well would be to turn every device off apart from the one you wanted to get the IP.

best bet is it use 2 routers- that way you wouldnt have to have to try and get wireless to the shed from the home and you would have 2 seperate networks- one in the shed and one at home

PS. sorry about poorly edited wring flow diagram i did- just trying to visual represent your layout!

I finally figured it out after some research.
Of all the people that Ive asked everywhere your statement answered my simple question while others didnt. I should have run another cable the first time as that would have solved the problem.

Thanks Speedy! :good:
