Comodo (Virus Protection) just popped up and told me this file was a threat.

Its located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\rtenzot.dll

I hit move to quarentine and now I'm wondering if I can dump the file. Last time this happened, I deleted the "threat" and my computer wouldnt boot

I'm so bad at this virus stuff, thanks for the help :D

Check out what a Google query gives you here. Just from quickly over viewing those sites it seems like a trojan.

Yeah, i did and i knew it was a trojan...but I also read that viruses can latch on and exploit legit .dll's.

Is this true?

I wanted to verify that my system would not be harmed by removing the file (make sure its not a crucial windows file)

Yeah sorry about the confusion :D However, I'm not exactly sure about what to do. If it was me I would probably delete it (but don't count on that). And yeah I remember hearing about how certain viruses can exploit legit files.
