rules for picture tournament

Here is what I propose:

1) Pictures must be yours
2) Pictures must go with the theme
3) 10 days vote must be respected
4) No photoshop effects is allowed
5) These rules can not be modified

What do you think?
 
Photoshop effects aren't allowed :p. Then you have to think of the size restriction, the first come first serve to taking part slots, sticking to the tourny topic at hand etc. A little vague but an ok idea :).

Ok here are some more:
* You can have full size images but you must provide thumbnails for the poll post.
* 10 entries max , as Breaks said first come first served.

Yeah these are good except I thought the vote was 7 days.

May I suggest one? Once you post your photo you can't change your mind, it makes it hard on the person compiling the poll.
 
I'm fine with all the rules so far, except the length obviously.

I say the winner of the poll should be able to make the length any where from 4-10 days.
 
You sure you're not all going to go and through a hissy fit every time someone takes charge of a competition again?

Don't want to put a dampener on this thread but making a set of rules is not going to stop someone breaking through as a natural leader, there will be one, if people can't handle that then future competitions are going to go the exact same way as the most recent one did.

this is all getting a bit formal i thought it was just a bit off a laugh that we were having right


i mean i cant start the next one till the "rules" are set

i thought it was fine as it was

We've had many tournaments and only this one got out of hands, between tow participants. I don't believe it will happen again. Perhaps making these tournament CF Official, and having official rules could help enforcing these...
 
toooo serious this is supposed to be fun why does everty body just relax

we can keep it the same so then i can start the next tournament

also if you are going to change the rules you need to change the name to the unedited picture tournament

We only need a few simple rules, more as guidelines.

Length of time for the poll. Well it was decided that it would be 7 days.
Whether or not editing is allowed.
The photo (obviously) must be taken by yourself.

Thats all thats really needed. Too many rules spoil the fun.

Lets get on with the next one.
 
I agree, I thought it was just a bit of fun, I think having loads of rules really disscourages people from submitting a photo...

It's better to keep it simple...
 
I was OK with the tournaments we had but A member wanted to change
pretty much the one rule that keeps this tournament regular....

Ok, pointing the finger is not constructive. Lets just get this thing rolling again!
How about 4NGU$ gets the next comp up. We all know the rules now, they've been thrown around enough. :P
 
Trust me, I wasn't the only one that wanted it shortened. I was just the only one that voiced my opinion.
I am all for making this competition fun and thats why I want the voting period shorter.
The shorter the voting time is the more competitions we can have, it's as simple as that. And when there is a clear winner after the third day, I just don't see the point of voting for another four days. Especially when the goal of this whole thing is to have fun, and not see who can beat who.

Thats how I see it.

PS- The reason I brought this up in the first place was because I thought it would benefit everyone, and make the whole process more enjoyable.

Go ahead and start the next comp. Just choose 5 or 7 days, we'll get the rules finalized while this one is going on.
