running a laptop from a generator?

hey guys im new to this forum

anyway i was wondering if anyone would be able to help me, i need to run my laptop yet the only source of power is a generator, so is it safe to run a laptop of a generator? my mate told me i could so just wondering if others could confirm that or not?

yes it will be fine as long as you dont put the laptop on top of the generator. i'd recommend plugging the laptop transformer into a surge protector to reduce voltage spikes. i have one on my computer even though my power is very stable.
