Can lan and wan cable be laid right next to one another, Also any advantage to using cat 6 instead of cat 5e for a small office billing and chart keeping system

Is there any specification for short runs of 10 gbps? I seem to remember you had to step up to cat6a for 10 gbps beyond around 30m or similar.

You also would get an annoying plastic insert to cut through on each splice from 5e->6+
