Running game at higher res

Well as some of you probally know I just got my new widescreen monitor.

Well I forgot how you would go about forcing your games to run at this higher resolution. I googled it, but for some reason was unable to find what I was looking for.

Right now the main game I want to run at the res of 1600 x 1050 is CSS.

All help would be great,

Thanks Bob.

the only way to set the game at a higher res would be to go into the video options in the game, then it should say something about the res your playing at, then there should be a drop down box that has a whole bunch of resolution to play at.... choose one.

The thing is that the game doesn't reconize this resolution. Basically the game doesn't support it.
What you need to do is go into the game setup files and edit it there. I just don't remember how to go about doing that.

Thanks

Bob

"for css chose the 10:9 ratio and then you can select the 1680x1050 res from the drop down menu, for bf2 all its gonna do is stretch the video out i recommend using the 1280x960 res in bf2 and then setting your video scaling on your monitor to wide it stresses the video card less then the sxyz command line option and it still gives you the same effect since the max res bf2 will put out is 1280x1024 anything else it just stretches the video but if u want to right click on your bf2 short cut and go to property's under the shortcut tab put +szx 1680 +szy 1050 in the target box after all the other mumbo jumbo so it reads "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050" by Batou1986 from here

That might help
