im looking at socket AM2 MOBOS and it says PCIe x16 (electrical x8)

what does the x8 mean ??????????

It means it's a 16x slot but it's only wired for 8x speed but that's still faster than you really need

are u sure if i got a MOBO , with this 8x setting , it wont slow down any gameplay or graphics ?????

Are you going with sli?? My current motherboard runs at 16x, if its a sli motherboard, alot of them have one 16x slot and a 8x slot

O, I wouldnt go with either of those motherboards. Do you have a price range or any must haves? So that I may pick you out one?

i guesss i could streeeetch it out , but i what am i going to do with the extra PCIe slot , its not crossfire :(

so u guys are sure , totally sure , that if i ever find and buy a MOBO with a PCIe slot that runs at 8x speed. it will still work the same and not slow down any performance ?????????????????

What wrong with the DFI board posted earlier its better than any of these other boards, the only reason the raiting are low is because Brisbane bios update

no no , im going with the DFI , i just wanna know , so i know for future preference, that if i were to get an 8x PCIe slot would it slow down any performance ?????????

If you were running like a 8800GTX or Ultra it might lose a frame or two, its like SLI boards that run X8-X8 compaired to X16-X16 theres really not much performance difference. Its like my board, it has a nForce 4 and runs in x8-X8 SLI but runs one card in X16
