not without admin rights. You need to input in russian?

no, i need to see the russian text not only in ms word and browsers, but also in notepads and other apps. plus, i have some programs that have menus in russian, so i can't see the text from the menus

That was a thought there since you are more or less locked out of making the other needed regional setting changes. You will have to explain the need there for adminstrative access at your office if the laptop is owned by a business.

agree, but i'm working in a remote office in another country, an i have to wait when the the guy from IT will come to our country, since he's the only one who has admin rights in this region of europe :D maybe i can ask him to do that through remote desktop.

That will depend if the laptop is configured for remote access. Often when you go to install a new software you will see the option to install multilanguage support. At that time you choose the language for the additional packakes to be installed. But if the user account has limited permissions you are still left in a dilemna there.

i understand. but i've got another question related to the topic.

where in the registry is stored the info about the codepage, so i could edit the registry offline and change the codepage to the russian?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\CodePage

"1250"="c_1251.nls"
"1251"="c_1251.nls"
"1252"="c_1251.nls"
"1253"="c_1251.nls"
"1254"="c_1251.nls"

There's nothing like a good registry guide to find answers like that one. :)
