S.e.o. Telemarketers are driving me nuts

I registered my domain about two weeks ago.....www.irstesting.com
and since then the s.e.o. people been driving me crazy.
One called today and promised me thousands + hits a day if I
would join a plan at 100$ per month.

How did they find out i have a new domain?
Did my host tell them?

Are any of these outfits for real? Any way for me to find out on my
own?

Whenever you register a domain, the contact information you register it under becomes public.

As for the telemarketer's I seriously doubt any of them are any good. If you want to use a SEO company, I would do lots of independent research before choosing one.

Also if you explicitly tell them to never call you again they're legally not supposed too.

Also add yourself to the "do not call list" that each city has. Then its illegal to even call the first time regardless.
