I have a Dell Laptop with an S-Video output on the back. I connect my Svideo cable to my laptop and plug the other end of the cable, which has RCA jacks, into my TV. Everything works fine except windows media player, win DVD and any other dvd player will play on my TV. The program shows up on the TV, put not the actual movies. Any ideas? Thanks.

I think It has something to do with your TV'S resolution. Your tv is prolly using a different res. from your video/ DVD files. Therefore the actual screen of your laptop will show but the videos will have a different resolution than that of your TV.

is there a Fn button to switch displays?? (probably Fn + F10 or some other F-button)

hook it up and cycle through the display settings it gives you

Thanks to for the help guys, but I figured it out. Jerkstore was right. I knew I had to hit "ctrl + F8" but I've been trying to play it on my TV and my laptop. But I am only allowed to play it on my TV or my lap top, not both. Thanks again.
