Safe Mode

I have a laptop running windows 8. It has a broken screen so I decided to connect it to a monitor and use it as a PC. The problem is that I made it start in safe mode however when I restarted it I cannot make the monitor go on and as its screen is broken I cannot do anything. Can you please help me?

Thanks

So when you turn it on, do you see any POST screen before Windows attempts to load when you have the external monitor connected? If not, then it's not the OS, as you should see the POST screen or at least a splash screen before the OS even attempts to load.

If you do see it, how long into the booting process does the monitor cut out?

No when I tried it I did not see anything. The external monitor remained in stand by. It did not go on. I will try it again maybe it was a loose connection then.

Thanks

I tried again and I connected it through VGA and even through HDMI with different monitors but the monitors still did not go on. I think it's because it's starting in safe mode. What can I do?

Press F8 when it boots up to select normal mode. I really don't think it's related, did you used to see a splash screen with your computer companies logo or text before the Windows screen?

There might be a FN key on the keyboard and a CRT/LCD key. Press and hold the FN key and hit the CRT/LCD key. You may have to press the CRT/LCD key twice. I have a netbook connected to an external monitor.
