So i didn't know ssd's don't come with mounting kits LOL i guess i shoulda known better...

so i ordered a mounting kit .... but i wanna start using the drive asap... is it safe to just let it rest on the rack inside the case? my case has like 6 slots for harddrives... unfortunately i live in southern va so there are no computer stores near me...

my plan is to let it rest ontop of the anti static bag next to the fan ... u guys think that will be ok?

Some SSDs are now comming with bracket included in the package,Mine is anyway...what SSD have you purchased?

As for your question, will it be okay not mounted....i cant see why not, alot of people actualy tuck their SSD drives down by the side panel, standing where the cables go in the side and i dont think they have had any problems :)

ive never had one. will along the line. i would mount as mentioned on the bottom. Maybe a piece of cardboard and duct tape to secure it. in case you tilt and does not bounce around. At least it would be secure and in place and not move.
It is next on my list though.

i bought the micron 126gb sata 3 ssd.... which i'm a complete idoit b/c the crucial (same company) exact same ssd is 50$ cheaper...but i dind't see it until mine was already shipped out... so mad at myself... but oh well which ssd did u get that came with the bracket? i ordered the bracket for like 6$ so oh well at this point an extra $6 for my system ain't gonna be a dent lol

thanks for the response

guys
