I have just got a new 2tb barracuda internal hdd because my current 1tb spinpoint is at capacity, looking for some opinions if it is reliable enough to use acronis to copy that amount of data in one go ?

Or would i be better served to manually copy the data in smaller amounts, i`m not in a rush so only care about which way will be the safest. thanks.

A tera is huge. My self i used windows 7 pro 64 bit. all update.
firefox, all software i liked then burn. True image will work.
Warinng though. That is a huge, a Tera byte, back up.
would not do it.

so do you think i could hook up both drives and just do a full drive copy without any or at least much data loss, most of the data is either software or video

why not create a backup directory. Its copy and paste. that works.
Image will work but think its large. A tera, please.

thanks for the advice tremmor and voyager, if i use the clone function in acronis, will it leave the original drive untouched, so i can check a few of the cloned files to make sure they are fully intact and useable ?

Acronis will just clone the original drive to the new one and leave the data on the old one intact, it won't delete anything.
