Safe to run games?

Hi I just bought an MSI geforce 7900 GS. It needs a 6 pin power connection, but I only have 4 pin so an adapter is on the way. In the mean time can I play games? Probably not newer ones but what about older ones such as Rise of Nations or CnC Generals?

PCI express power connectors are all 6 pin connectors, your 4 pin connector is probably the motherboard connector, or just the molex. Your PC will probably not boot up without the 6 pin connector. So you'll have to wait for the adaptor to come.
 
with my 7800GTX, if the power is not connected to the card, the computer will still come up. It will not however run games. It will load them in the lowest settings and have horrible frame rates. So my answer is yes you could but most likely shouldnt.
