Safely Remove Hardware

i just had to reformat and now under my system tray there is the Safely Remove Hardware icon and when I open it up it has my C drive (I have 3 drives in the computer), and both my dvd drives in it. I don't think this is normal. Can anyone explain this and why I can unplug or eject them? I don't want this like this and if anyone has a solution on how to get rid of that, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I've seen this occur for SATA hard drives because technically (although the power isn't) the data connection supports hot swap. So if you really wanted to you could eject the hard drive and unplug it's data connection without harming it. Although your computer would likely quit working if you unplug the hard drive windows is installed on.

Yeah, i had it at one point i hid it and forgot about it. I don't have it anymore so i don't know what happened. It's gone now though.... Magic maybe?
