Safely transfer massive amount of files safely across hard drives?

I've never dealt with a quantity like I have with this, needing to transfer multiple TB of data (via a common motherboard) between hard drives, and I'd like to know if there's a program that possible fragments some of the larger files automatically (in lieu of individually zipping them) or at minimum somehow reduces the risk of data corruption or inconsistencies?
Would I possibly have to simply only move smaller portions at a time? I'd be away from the particular machine for awhile and wouldn't want to have to be there while the actual transfer occurs.

You could try using a secondary file copier such as TeraCopy. It lists all files being copied and can also perform a verification of the data once its copied.

Appreciate it. I'd been looking at a few but was hoping to find someone that had actually used some of them or had suggestions.
