Same brands, better performance?

not generally no, this usually makes no difference. For good practise, it is reccommended that you go for the same, but it does not make any difference :)
 
Ok so it would be a waste of money to buy another network adapter. I have a netgear router, and a linksys usb adapter on a desktop. They work fine, but I was thinking if I get the same brand it would work better.
 
nah njot really worth it, unless they work on different bands . ie: ones on 802.11g and the other is on say 802.11a . you need one with the same 802.11x capability for better performance
