hi everyone 1st post from rome
about to spend around 750.00euros ... is italy expensive?

2 hp notebooks - ram 4giga

1st has 2.4ghz and 160gb hard drive
2nd has 2.1ghz and 250gb ...

I'm a lot on the web browsing ... so is 0.3ghz that big difference for me??

both have geforce8400 - 256
intel core 2 duo 8300 and 8100

what does "sodimm" mean written after the ram? the other difference.

please give me your idea

cheers

Either one is good, both will be fine for you, depends on how much storage you want as that is biggest real difference.

sodimm is a 'small outline dual in-line memory module', it a type of memory (ram) smaller than Dimm memory, for example and is commonly used in laptop/notebooks or in systems where space is an extreme consideration, micro shuttles ...etc..

They can have 100, 144, or 200 pins and come in the same variety of capacities as dimm modules.

thnx scooter

so I will reason like this.
..I can find extra gigas outside if I need them
.....but I can't add gigahertz to notebook
-corrrect me if I'm wrong-
...so even if it's just 0.3ghz + I'll take the most powerful ....

btw scooter ..we're ex neighbours from different timelines sort of
yeah
I grew up in ontario, toronto, kitchener, bramalea, mississauga and ... but that was long time ago 1970-1980

nice to meet

and anyways whats the price over there for this kind of laptop
750euro is about 1000cad at change rate
but real life rate is 750 the same don't you think...?

cheers
