Samsung BD-P1580 Blu Ray player help.

Hello and Seasons Greetings.

My dad was given this player for Christmas and every time he inserts a Disc, no matter if it's a normal DVD or a Blu Ray (all PAL) it will not load the discs and the drive makes a rapid beeping type noise whilst it's making out that it's loading. Is it ****ed?

I appreciate any help provided.
 
I'd say it's a faulty unit. I don't have any experience with Samsung Bluray players, but I'm certain it should play some kind of disk. I'd say take it back and exchange it.
