SAMSUNG H653B D300 Driver....

Hi...

I brought this SAMSUNG H653B a while ago and only just realised that i cant erase dvds...

the dvd is a RW and so is the drive...

My mate said something to do with the driver so tried to update it but the update wizard cant find the file...

please help

How are you trying to erase the DVD-RW media?

using the windows built in thing... right clicking on the drive.

just noticed that it says "erase this CD-RW" if that makes any difference

Yes, that will do the same thing. In most cases you can think of a DVD as just a higher capacity CD.

well the problem is that that fails to erase it....

says that "the wizard cannot finish erasing the disk and has stopped the process"

OK. I assume you are trying this under XP? You can try this utility to do what you need. Or if you have something like Nero already installed, try that.
